Ironman[]

Restrictions[]

Ironman imposes heavy restrictions on the character, with an emphasis on isolating them from most type of outsider helps:

  • They cannot enter Multiplayer, or the Arena.
  • They cannot visit the Marketplace, or perform Private/Item-for-Item Trading with other player. All items looted by Ironman characters are Non-Transferable
  • They cannot purchase Gold Membership. Credits purchased can only be used for Clothings and Stat Resets.
  • Daily/weekly Challenges and weekend boosts are not available.

Benefits[]

Ironman and Hardcore Ironman characters also enjoy certain benefits, designed to keep them self-sufficient and reduce the impact of looting RNG:

  • They have access to the Iron Service, a combination of the Chef's, Doctor's and Engineer's services. Ironman/Hardcore Ironman characters have a +5 service level bonus, meaning that, for example, they can cook Caviars and repair Exterminator Reactives at level 40 instead of 45.
  • They also have the Craftsman's recipes to convert low grade metals and fabric to higher tiers (Up to Uncommon for metal and Rare for fabric), and craft low to mid tier ammunition using in-game cash and Metal Scraps.
  • They have the exclusive ability to craft 120 proficiency tier 1 weapons at level 45+.
  • They can loot Gold Member only items at a reduced chance, despite not being Gold Members themselves. They also have a flat 3x base ammunition looted, and 3x weapon+armor loot chance modifier.
  • They gain access to exclusive Venditron deals in later outposts, allowing them to possess endgame gears that would otherwise be unobtainable without excessive looting:

Quitting Ironman[]

Ironman and Hardcore Ironman characters come with a free Profession Change, allowing them to change into a non-Ironman profession, thus ending the challenge at any moment. This switch is irreversible; in other words, it is not possible to change back into the Ironman or Hardcore Ironman profession.

Hardcore[]

Hardcore imposes the perma-death rule, making the death of the player character permanent and irreversible. Upon death by zombies, the player will be presented with 2 choices:

  • Start as a brand new Hardcore survivor at Nastya's Holdout, forfeiting everything you have earned.
  • Perform a free Profession Change into a normal, non-Hardcore profession. Your progress and items will be saved, and you will be revived at Nastya's Holdout. To prevent incompatible proficiency requirement after profession change, your currently equipped weapons and armors will sent to The Yard's scrap recovery interface.

As compensation, the Hardcore profession comes with a +30% EXP boost similarly to Role-Playing Professions. The Hardcore Ironman profession does not enjoy this benefit.

PvP deaths, whether in the Inner City or Arena, do not trigger the reincarnation screen. The character will wait for the normal time amount, then respawn normally.

HCIM Shop[]

Reaching level 120 with a Hardcore Ironman character unlocks the HCIM Shop, which sells a collection of exclusive experimental weapons. These weapons are Non-Transferable

Access to the HCIM Shop is retained even after the Hardcore Ironman character quits the challenge by profession changing. It is not retained if the HCIM character dies, then choose to reincarnate as a new level 1 character.
