Overview

Dismantling — Drag any item to scrap, or dismantle them.

Items in the inventory can be scrapped at The Yard, located in all the Public Outposts, which means a low amount of money can be earned by salvaging them. Everything found can be readily turned into cash by going to The Yard and dragging the item to the scrap icon. Any item may be scrapped; the higher the requirements, the more money you will gain from scrapping. It's best to scrap equipment with low market value.

Alternatively, most items can be dismantled into Crafting Materials, to be recycled into more useful items and equipments. This can be done at The Yard or in the Crafting menu, the latter of which is also available in Private Outposts.

Important Notes

Items cannot be scrapped in Private Outposts.
Before scrapping an item, the game asks if you are sure as a security measure.
Cooking uncooked food item does not increase its scrap value.
Armour Durability does not affect its scrap value.
Mastercrafted [MC] items scrap for double their base scrapping value.
Different statistics on Mastercrafted items do not affect the scrap value, but will affect its sale price on the market.
More often than not, the scrap value of a certain item will become the floor price of that item on the market. However, you should always be aware of sellers that sell for lower than the scrap price, buy these items instantly. E.G: Selling a Pen Knife {MC} for $30. Pen Knives are usually $50 scrap price, double that for {MC} status, $100 scrap price for a $30 item.

Miscellaneous Items are not listed here due to their large quantity and negligible scrap value.

Quick Scrap

Introduced in October 27th, 2024, the quick scrap menu allows quick scrapping of any item in your inventory that is not slot locked, without a confirmation step. Access the menu by left clicking the Scrap icon, then take a few seconds to read and agree to the terms and conditions for using it.

Scrapped Item Recovery

As of January 30th, 2023, a feature to recover recently scrapped items was implemented as a response to players frequently making the mistake of scrapping their most valued equipment. Up to 5 most recently scrapped + 5 dismantled items in the last 30 minutes can be recovered for the full scrapping/dismantling amount; recovering them will make space for previous items that were pushed off the list.

Weapons

The weapon's scrap value is solely based on its proficiency requirement and whether or not it is a Melee Weapon.
- For example, a 100 proficiency Pistol will have the same scrap value as a 100 proficiency Rifle or Shotgun
- Melee Weapons and Chainsaws have roughly half the scrap value of firearms of similar proficiency requirement.
- Lootable 120 proficiency weapons have a hidden "tier" value that modifies scrap value to be higher than usual.
